Membership and Events

Benefits
In addition to being kept informed of Association and other events or commemorations, Members receive a Newsletter 3 times each year.

Membership also gives access to the Members Area of this website, which allows access to back issues of all Newsletters and historical information, including advice on conducting research, administrative documents (e.g. forms, notices and minutes of meeting) and event booking forms. The Association also holds a copy of the Operational Records, for 103 and 576 Squadrons that flew from Elsham Wolds, information from which can be made available to Members. These detail the airmen in each crew and every aircraft used by the Squadrons, day-by-day throughout World War II, as well as information on every sortie undertaken, training and postings (commissioned ranks only).

The Members Area will be developed to include further information.

Association Events
A Reunion is held (usually) on the last weekend in August each year, to coincide with the English Late Summer Bank Holiday. Over recent years, events have centred on Elsham village (where the street signs bear the two Squadron crests, as a reminder of the past), with the popular Saturday evening Reunion Dinner often held at other locations, with more space.

A Service of Remembrance is held annually in November, usually at Elsham Parish Church, followed by a wreath laying at the Memorial Garden, on the site of the former aerodrome.

Remembering Those Who Flew
As indicated on the Home page, the Association maintains a Memorial and Garden on the site of the former airfield, adjacent to the Memorial Rooms, which contain a small but informative Museum.

Membership
Membership is open to all those who were members of 103 and 576 Squadrons or served at Elsham Wolds (e.g. as part of No. 13 Base), members of their families and others with an interest in their history or perpetuating the memory of those who served. Subscriptions are currently £25 per annum for both UK and overseas members and the membership year runs from 1st September, each year.
